BioThis is a journal dedicated to my entry in the 2005 National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) challenge. It is a fantasy/survival novel entitled Glarjenarn (GLAR-yay-narn).
This page will be used to provide updates to the story as I write them and to ask for and recieve criticism from LJ Users and NaNoWriMo participants. I have decided to keep updates about my novel seperate from my primary LiveJournal (![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif)
bmw). It just feels nice.
Rather than give a long-winded description of what Glarjenarn will be about, I give you this "teaser" for it that I wrote for the NaNoWriMo forums. I think that while ambitious, it accurately describes the plot I am working on:
GLARJENARN
Vigtan is a mighty god of war, and Glarjenarn, the Faithful Warrior, is among his greatest priests.
Stranded on an uncharted island with the daughter of a man he killed, Glarjenarn has demons both figurative and literal to contend with as he attempts to earn this girl's trust and keep both himself and her alive. Malicious spirits of the dead rise to take vengeance upon Glarjenarn, and the gods he has served so well appear only to condemn him. He has only a small book into which he may record his ordeal, and he pours into it his stories of battle, his struggle to survive, and his many mirths and melancholies.
Written from the perspective of this mighty and complex man of both faith and war, GLARJENARN is a story of survival, madness, and redemption set in a world reminscent of the Viking sagas.
The first update of text should appear on November 1, 2005, when the NaNoWriMo challenge officially begins. Updates will follow at least on a weekly basis.
